I'm currently looking at two used quads to possibly purchase.
There both in the same condition and the same price.
Do you guys have any opinions on either.
Any advice would help..

its all about what u want and what u will use the quad for. the twin peaks is a 700 with a swingarm and is more for sport riding. the sportsman is more for work and has irs. the twin peaks is a really fast quad and it is 4x4

 

What are you going to be using the quad for????
Is this your first quad?
Do you have a sore back?
Do you need a quad for work around the yard?
Do you need to keep up with your FAST friends?
....Caper...........

 

I plan on using the quad for trail riding only.
Mostly forest service roads and 4x4 trails.
This will be my fist quad.
So far I have rented a sportsman 500 and really liked it.
I do like doing power slides which I here is not recommended with a sportsman.
The twin peaks I test drove tonight seemed a lot quicker then the 500 though.
I'm a little worried about the fact that TP back fired twice while I test road it and it made a clicking noise.
The owner stated that the back firing is normal and so was clicking from the belt.
He seems like an honest guy, I just really don't have a clue though.

No back pains here.
I will need to keep up with a 700 King Quad, and a Sportsman 800.

The twin peaks is actually a kawasaki prairie. Great bike, really fast! Both the twin peaks and the sportsman have a slip and go type cvt. This is most like the noise you're hearing from the belt, and it's perfectly normal, as long as it's when you're hitting or letting up on the throttle. As for which is better, they're 2 diff machines and each has it's better attributes. Really the only thing the TwinPeaks has over the sportsman is cc's. It's a v-twin and alot more powerful. The sportsman is a 2004, so it's the older body style and suspension. The 05 model completely changed for the better, so if you could find a used 05 model it would be better.

 

Trail riding only.....Hands down the Twin Peaks, especially if you want to keep up with a Kingquad and SP800. A friends dad had one and put 15k miles on it... no troubles.
