hey all! im looking to get my first atv. i am just a beginner and will be getting it for mostly just cruising around in rural areas. i can get a 06kfx for 5300 or a 07 z400 for 5800. im really leaning towards the z. i think it looks a little better the yellow vs. the orange kawasaki. also were there any updates from the 06 to 07? or are they the same? i am gonna look at the honda rancher 420s today i dont know much about them. but i just dont know if i need a utility atv and i might get bored with a lack of power.
also where is a good place on the internet to get accessories? specifically helmets?
thanks

The Z and its clones are great all around machines. Great handling and the motor has lots of hop-up potential.
Just got a Rancher 420, and it is one sweet machine.....not to big and not to small! But, my motto is to never ride a utility anywhere I can ride a sport quad, so stick with the sport unless there are places you absolutely can't go without 4wd. If that's the case, get both.........

There are alot of choices out there. I for one am one who goes for the biggest most powerful, so i can haul an entire campsite with me on my quad, and still ride a wheelie with it As reconranger said, figure out what you will be doing. If you are only riding dry trails in spring, get a sport. But if you are going to ride ditches in winter, or have an occasional 2ft mud hole to go through, or pull a trailer, get a ute. People get an image of an ugly tractor looking quad with a ute. Look at my pics, you can dress up a ute pretty well, imo
