15t sprocket trouble
#1
i bought a 15t sprocket and installed it on my raptor 700... but now when i go to take off it seems like the chain is hitting something and catching or gets too much slack, yet the chain is tightened... it sounds like a grinding/ rubbing noise up by the front sprocket, even after i put the 14t back on it still made the same noises ??

I think the raptor 700 still has yamaha's screwed up chain adjustment system. If it does, when you adjusted the chain you probably didn't adjust it evenly, so the axle is at an angle a little bit. That also puts the rear sprocket at an angle, throwing the chain out of wack and causing it to get hung up on the front sprocket and make that noise. That's what i'd check out first at least.

i bet if u take a look at ur case saver u will see where the chain rubs it with the 15 on ....mine did it also,,,,,i just used a grinder to take off maybe an 1\8 of an inch off the case saver.....problem solved

the bolt holes on the factory case saver have enuf slop in them if u dont hold it away from the sprocket when u put it on it will rub even the 14...kinda hard to do cause the plastic cover goes on top...

i dont have the shield on or the case saver sothats not it im thinking it might be the sprocket out of wack...can i get some more info on how to straighten out the sprocket, because this is all it could be i think i dont have the case or saver on and it like catches and stumbles, it causing me a big headache for such a simple mod...
