how do i tighten timing chain on warrior

please help me im kind of slowwww
it tiking or slapping or well i dont know but it dont sound good
i tried tightening the rockers but it had no effect on the noise.
sometimes it backfires but not real loud the baffle is missing could that cause a backfire?

You cant tighten the timing chain. Its supposed to have an automatic tightener on the bottom-rear of the cylinder. Maybe that piece is not installed correctly? As far as the backfiring, taking the baffle out shouldnt affect anything.

Well if the baffle is gone and it isn't jetted right, that will cause a slight backfire. Your supposed to adjust the valves to spec, so use a feeler gauge, if after adjusted it still makes noise either your valves are shot, or if it still sounds like chain slap, take the chain adjuster out and see if it is adjusted all the way out, if so then you need a new timing chain.

thank you for the help ill try that and if its out ill probably be taking it somewhere so it dont get done wrong..... im used to a blaster200 and a 250quadracer much more simple!

How old is the warrior/how many hours are on it? Those stock timing chains don't last real long, last year when my 2001 was apart for the rebuild, the original chain was already stretched out of spec.
