I just bought a new 07 450r. I do mx, and I have a problem when landing from any jump, the engine stalls for a split second, everytime!! I have to rev the engine hard on landing, if not, it kills the engine. Is this normal? Or something in the carb is wrong? This is a brand new quad and did not expect this type of issue.

Also, any reccomendation on aftermarket suspension for mx (on tight budget)? +2 a-arms, longer axle and stock shocks revalved?

My buddy had something like this. It also bogged a tad when he hit the accelerator off idle. It turned out to be the "leak jet" (I think it has something to do with meeting emissions???). It takes any overflow from the carb and sends it back to the bowl. Stock is something like a 70, and the HRC kit has a replacement 40. He blocked his off completely.

Anyway, I'm just guessing here, but perhaps when you hit the ground the impact sends the fuel in the carb out the to large leak jet and you are momentarily starved of fuel?????

 

I have a friend who has an '05 (or '04) and it does the same thing.
They've had it to the dealer and have not been able to pinpoint the cause.
