hey i'm new at this but i just got a 2001 rubicon and i was wondering if anyone knows anything about them having transmission problems thanks.

 

The problems w/ early Rubicons was the pressure relief valve in the oil pump would fail and not send oil the the auto tranny unit. This would in turn damage the tranny unit which requires complete engine teardown and $1400 for the tranny part alone. Get the oil pressure tested whenever possible. If caught right away, the oil pump can be replaced before the tranny is damaged. If you hear a sound like stripped splines, that it the tranny running dry and on its way to the garbage can.
