ok heres the situation i had a race this weekend and it was an ice cross and a drag event i was running a really stupid tire combo cause it all i had laying around to be studded and i couldent afford new tires...i was running my yoshi slip on...a rejjeted carb with a 155 main....k&n filter...with 22 inch studded razr rears and studded stock front...i was barely beating stock 400s during the drags and ive been rideing for years so its not cause of my rideing skils i mean i can blow away z400s and some 450s int he trails...but for some reason my quad doesnt feel like its running the way it should be......my top end is pritty bad to but im kinda waiting till it blows befor i replace it but would that be effecting it????


in the summer i usauly run the same enigne set up with 20 inch original holeshot rears and 21 inch front and i can barely keep up with my buddies z in a drag race for the first 3 gears then he kills me and its a stock z400 but on trails a wreck him

what ever sugestions u guys have would be great cause im raceing hairscrambles this year in the wnyoa series out in western new york and it would be nice if my enigne would be running properly so i could at least do decent


to me it feels like the enigne doesnt aclerate fast enough should i rejjet higher and add a rev box?

 

Alright so what I get out of this during the summer you can barley keep up with a z400 and drag racing you were barley beating them? Why doesn't this sound right to you? And putting the big tires on there would slow it down some but I don't know you would have to explain it better.

 

if the 155 is the same jet you use in summer, i would go up a size and see if that helps, maybe your running lean because of more oxygen in the cold air. check out your plug, should be tan not white.
