How to make a 300EX faster
#1
I would like to know what parts, kits,or other modifications you can buy for a Honda 300EX that would make it suitable for motocross racing and hare scrambles. I would like to get into ATV racing, but my dad doesn't like the 400EX, Banshee, or a 250R because it would be going through trails every now and then and those three don't have a reverse. Can you guys help me?

Hello, Anthony
well, I'm not going to give you my sermon about upgrading your suspension first, cuz it's too late
, so for performance on a budget I would put a pipe on your bomb. That's a whole nother subject in itself, but FMF makes a good one, White Bros.,etc. Call a few of them & find out what area of the band they build them for low, mid-range, or high end. Then you probably would want to replace the air filter with a better breathing one, such as K&N Uni, or Pro Design, if they make one for your ride. You can drill your airbox lid for more breathing or get an aftermarket cover like Moto force like I use. it is vented & allows 90% airflow, & mine is clear so I can see the condition of the filter. These are bolt ons of course & if you start with engine work, the list is endless with kits from $800 up. Then you really would have to do something with yoursuspension.
That's $400 to $650 in itself, so as I asked someone else,Anthony, how fast can you afford to go.
Anyway this could go on forever..if you want to go into more we could do so on that other site that we both use. You can e-mail me if you like & set up a time to log on to it.
