Do Honda trx250ex Parts Fit On A Honda Recon?
#1
I have a 2005 honda recon and i am now starting to customize it. i am currently putting a stage 1 power kit in and a new aftermarket exhaust. I wanted to know if i could put any exhuast from a trx250ex on my recon?? Also i want to take the racks off my quad along with the black stuff by the footpegs. i was wondering if some trx250ex nerfbars or bumpers would fit on my recon?? Please replay because i want to start to customize soon. Finally, I want to know if you could put any performance or body or any aftermarket part that is for a trx250ex on the recon....i hear this is true. If you have any other info please let me know. Thanks!!!!

The exhaust should fit because they are the same engine. I am not sure if there is even any difference in the two pipes.
The only thing that makes an EX any better than a Recon in performance is the lower weight, stiffer springs, and disc brakes up front. They should be pretty much neck and neck otherwise.
You can put the Recon on a diet by removing some of the metal pieces, but if you remove the lighter plastic floorboards and replace them with metal nerfs, you are likely to negate any weight loss that you might have achieved in removing racks, etc.
I would probably just ride it, but you might be able to find someone with an EX that you can just swap. That way you get the performance, and they get the utility qualities of the Recon. Just my 2 cents...

The Exhaust will fit if you build a bracket to match the holes up in the rear. no biggy a 12 inch piece of strap iron with 4 holes in it. I sold a few on ebay. I think the recon is about one of the funnest bikes to ride.

Thanx guys, but i wasn't really going for a wieght loss even though that would be nice. i was just wondering if any of the trx250ex nerf bars or bumpers would fit since that would look a lot better than the big bulky pegs on now. well to me it would. But does anyone know if any performance part should fit in the recon that fits in the trx250ex. And the recon is funn to ride!!!!!
