battery location

Default battery location

could anyone tell me how to relocate my battery like under the seat maybe with some pics and has anybody moved the rectifier and the starter solonoid?? they just seem to be right in the elements? thanks guys

there is no room under the seat unless you eliminate the air box. some people move them to the front, for weit distribution i think. if you are worried about rocks & such hitting the battery you could make a metal cover to go around it or a box to compleatly surround it. the rectifier should be fine from the eliments. you can't move it much but you might be able to mount it inside the frame instead of outside.

Somebody use to make an aluminum air box that would fit the battery. I believe it was up on ebay at some time (may still be there). SOme of the drag guys relocate up front under the oil tank but I wouldn't do it if your a rec rider. The DS is already a little nose heavy in the air as it is...
