Default 2004 Foreman 4x4 Question Wheel Hop?

I just purchased this 2004 Forman. When I ride it in deep snow in 4wd the front end jumps as if it's wheel hopping. It looks like it's shifting from 1 tire to the other in the front and makes it jump. Is this normal or do I have some sort of problem? Any suggestions??

My dad has a 2004 Rancher and it doesn't do this. Thanks in advance for your help.

Could this be the torque sensing front doing this? Has anyone else had this problem?

An 04 does have the torque sensing differential, not the old style limited slip one. You don't hear of many problems with these. Have you checked/changed the oil in it lately????

Sounds normal, like the front end is just tossing the power from one wheel to the next as it fights through the deep snow. Does it do this on other conditions other than deep snow?

Hows the fluid level in the fron diff? Are the front tires the same diameter as the rear...and for that matter, are all 4 tires the same diameter? You may have to use a cloth or flexable tape measure, and check the circumference of each tire.

I did check the oil, it was OK. I'm going to change it today. I called the dealer, they sounded like it's normal, tires getting equal traction fighting back and forth. THe mechanic said they were designed for deep snow riding, what ever that means. I just got it so I'm not sure how it acts in mud or sand.

In mud and sand the power transfer between front wheel will not be so abrupt as in snow and will be unnoticeable smooth.

its normal in snow, the diff keeps changing power to the tires, you have nothing wrong as long as it only happens in snow, or certain type of mud, where your not really going fast but putting down alot of power

IS it going to hurt anything by doing this? It seems like it would be hard on the equipment? Thank you for your reply's on this.
