Maier plastic fenders. How to paint them??
#1
I want to paint these gloss black and want them to look good not like you bought some 99 cent paint at walmart and just hacked them up. Any suggestions on how to get good results on some white fenders painted black.

Back to basics, u have to scuff it down to get all the clearcoat off. Then some grey primer, and a few very light coats of the black. After the primer u should be able to lightly sand it with a fine grit. Definatly need about 3 or 4 light coats to look full. Then hit it with some clearcoat.Remember to start every process in a "doesn't matter" section before commiting.

unless you get paint pretty cheap or already have it lying around then go for it .but for the price of it you can prob spent a lil bit extra and just get new black fenders . plus unless all you do is dune riding, that paint is going to get all scratched up. if you do paint post up some pics so we can see . good luck and hope it works out for you

Ive heard that you have to use that paint they use for R/C car bodies, and then clearcoat it well with the same type of clearcoat. Reason being is that it needs to have the flex agent in it.
