Installation of 2500 warn winch

Installation of 2500 warn winch
I am installing a Warn RT25 for a 2007 Can-am 650 Outlander STD on the front of the bike. I am having trouble fitting the mounting bracket on with the winch (too tight). Do I need to remove the plastic radiator air scoop to install the winch? The plastic piece is at the bottom of the radiator.
