Advertising Annoyance

I feel your pain guys. I also appreciate the couple of people here who pointed out that the reason the site is free is because of the Ads. We're running 9 servers now to keep up with the high traffic. The ads help defer the costs of the site. If you'd like to show your support and thank us for the site, click on the banners when you can. It helps!
Thanks guys.

I will agree with the others on this, a very small price for something that is free.
It amazes me that some people will complain when something is free.

I am the prime example of an e-shopper, I buy probably %90 of my stuff online. Why you ask? Because it is easyer, cheaper and faster than waiting for, or even getting sombody to answer a phone anymore!!! Then when I do get sombody on the phone they mess up the order!!! Arrrrr! It happens time and time again!!
But on the other hand if I can find it on line and order it, I don't have to wait on the phone or drive to and wait in line @ the dealer just to find out it is not availible! Arrrrrr!
What I think would be nice would be to slide that banner at the top over to the left. then on the right have a small ad that states,,, Connection e-tailers/w a logo that says "buy your parts now! And have them shipped to your door in days.
I went to the Durablue site in the dealer showcase, pulled up a axle I was intrested in but,,,,,still could not buy it right there.
So I had to surf around till I came to Terry racing,,and bam! I can buy a eliminator axle right there and have it at my door in a couple days. Now that's service!
These e-tailer sites spend alot of money to bring this kind of service. And I will shop [click] there any chance I get. I have had a %99 percent success with e-tailers compared to %60 success in phone sales.Let alone trying to get sombody on the phone.
In the spring I want to purchase a Roll Design +1 swingarm and a custom axis rear shock,,And I will go out of my way to purchase it on-line! The transactions just go smother, And I get a UPS tracking #.
Ok I'll get off my e-soap box now.

I buy everything online too. Most companies these days offer items for sale online for less money then if you walk in the door of their brick and mortar store. Even with shipping, I tend to save money buying online! The most I've ever bought online in one sale was a Dell Server for $15,000.00
I'm going to be rather bold here with this statement--but any accessory dealer or company in the Powersports Industry who does not offer real-time, online sales, is going to be hurting. You can bet their competition will have online sales. Also, they're missing out on a lot of revenue! Case in point--consider the ATVer in, say, Isreal who wants to buy something. He can't just pick up the phone on his lunch break and call an accessory company to place an order. Why? Because his lunch break at noon is probably around 2:00 am here in the States and the company is closed! Online ordering makes it possible for companies to sell and make money even on Holidays and other times when their store is closed! If a site displays products but can't handle online transactions, the consumer (like you did) will merely move on to a site where they can buy it online.
I built an e-commerce store for a company last year and they paid around $50,000 (it was a much larger store then most and highly customized with a lot of programming which took many months.) Within the first 6 months the store did $160,000 in sales. The moral is, they invested some big dollars up front but the store will pay for itself 10 times over in the next year. Once it's paid for itself anything beyond that is free money. That's good business! Most stores cost around $3000 - $5000 for something decent.
Unfortunately, the quality of the e-commerce software plays a HUGE role in how successful the company is with their online sales. Many companies use these little perl script shopping carts. They often don't handle the complexities of selling something like an exhaust pipe which is over-sized but light-weight and they aren't able to calculate the correct shipping. So a company using poor software may have a bad experience and conclude that Internet commerce is not a good sales vehicle. Where in reality, they may have done a poor job implementing their e-commerce system. Shopping cart abandonment is a big issue these days and site design has become a real art form.
The great news is...more and more companies have learned that being on the internet is no longer an option it is a requirement. So as time goes on, you'll be able to find more and more cool ATV stuff to buy on the web!
E-commerce is very fascinating to me and I couldn't help but jump in on this conversation! Sorry about my soap box speech!
