My DS has a Stage II kit on it and I had it dyno'd this weekend. Boy did I learn alot about advertising! First the numbers. On this Dynojet Dyno he ran a stock DS at 38 hp and 34 ft. pounds of torque. My stage II ran 45 hp and 39 ft. pounds of torque. It also ran 94.7 mph. Now you say 7 hp doesnt sound like much for the $2200. price tag? Thats what I felt at first. But after talking to this guy at Bradly Racing Enterprise in Tulsa Oklahoma , he began to explain to me that a 7 hp gain is a huge gaing for a single cylinder engine. And I asked about all these advertisments that claim like 10 hp for just throwing on a pipe or 2 hp gain for removing the airbox lid. Things like that. He said its bogus advertising because he asked me if I would of bought this kit if it were advertised to only make 7 more hp for $2200. ? I said probably not. He said thats why they advertise such high gains because 90% of the poeple out there wont get there bike dyno'd after they buy aftermarket stuff. Dont get me wrong the difference between my DS and stock one is no comparison. I mean look at the mph it ran ! 94.7 mph with the stock gearing. So the 7 hp gain feels like 30 hp to me but I'm just reporting the real world facts and not advertising facts. Buy the way I do feel the differnce in power is worth the $2200. Just dont believe everything you read in magazine advertising.

94 mph? Sorry but you cant take a dyno's mph and say your vehical/quad has gone that fast. You have to factor in aerodynamics and wind resistance exc. There isnt too much of that sitting still. :-)

The Baja 2000 winning DS650 did it with 17f/38r sprockets and 23" front tires and 22" rear tires and a stock engine with just a pipe.

I agree with you to a point. The guy who dyno'd my bike said I would lose about 5-10 mph with wind and ground resistance. He tested a stock DS in 4th gear and it would only run 55 mph and mine ran 80 mph in 4th. But you have to realise guys that he ran my bike up to 10200 RPM to achive the 94 mph run in 5th gear. I wasnt writing in to brag about how much tire speed my bike could produce. I wrote in to talk about true horse power gains with aftermarket add-ons. Thats all. Has anyone else had there DS dyno'd??

Well differnt Dyno's in different places turn out different numbers. So comparing 2 different machines in the same place and on the same dyno is more accurate than 2 differnt dyno's in differnt places.
