Default Grease Fittings

Went to grease everything up for the first time this weekend and could only find 3 fittings? This is on an 06 X2, and the manual shows 2 for the front ball joints, one for the yoke and one for the rear carrier. The one for the rear carrier is the one I could not find? I'm just wondering if that is for the regular sportsmans with IFS as opposed to the new configuration for the X2? Any ideas??

Hey POL700, I have an X2 also and haven't been able to find the rear grease fittings either. I have a feeling they didn't get the manual correct in this regard. I've looked at it with the bed up and down, felt all around the general area and no fitting. You might want to ask your service guy at the local dealer just to be sure. But, I don't think they are there.

The manuals are not that accuarate sometimes. The 07 scrambler owners manual AND service manual say there are grease zerks for the ball joints, and I can assure you that they do not exist.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the responses. Moose, have you found only the three I've described as well, the two front ball joints and the yoke?

if you look at the parts diagram for the 07 scrambler the description says 14 7061153 Joint, Ball, Greaseless [If built after 10/27/06] so that must be why there are no zerks to be found

POL700, yep, I only found the ones up front on the ball joints, and the yoke and rear carrier. I think Polaris got tired of people whining about having to grease 92 fittings (slight exaggeration) so they went with nylon bushings or something. I know it was a bit of a pain greasing my Xplorer. It had in the area of 24 grease fittings, some I couldn't reach.

Hey Moose,

Maybe I misunderstood you, but are you saying you DID find the fitting on the rear carrier?

Nope, no fitting that I could find in the rear. Just the ones you found.
