im lookin to sell my suzuki and after i get some more money buy a used sport quad for around 3 grand..was just wonderin whats the best quad for the money? i ride just about every type of terrain..sandpits, powerlines, woods and some fast logging roads. im 5'11 175 and i want something that will last a long time..college's coming soon so i wont have any money lol

 

with whats out now you can pick up alot of great quads cheap.it depends on what your after.i`ve seen older ds650`s,raptors,predators and z400`s all go for 3 grand.

 

yea i was lookin at the wantad and saw preds, raptors, 400ex/z ..all of the preds in that price range were 03's though and they have tranny issues? same with the z's but with the frame i think..im not going to have money to fix the stuff after i buy it..and what kind of condition are they usually in when going for that cheap

 

Why not a KFX 700. Very reliable with no issues. Very tough, fast and will do about anything you want it to do.

 

i dont think i could find a decent one for around 3,000..and i dont really like automatics as much i prefer clutch

 

Honda 400EX. These are solid machines that will last forever if properly maintained. If you are headed for college, no way to you need to be worrying about rebuilds and such, so you want the most solid machine there is.....

 

ive been looking at the 400ex's..theres plenty of them for sale at the price id like..but im just a little bit worried about having no reverse.

 

your best bet is to go for a z400.great all around quad that has reverse.they will keep up with other quads just fine so you won`t get left behind too bad against the 450`s and raptors.

 

if i was to go for a z, are there any years i should stay away from? and are they as reliable as the ex's?..i'm still undecided so any input is appreciated
