Default SP 500 front shock adjuster

How difficult is it to install the front shock adjuster that Polaris sells for the Sportsmans? I just purchased one and am going to pick it up on Saturday and was wondering if just basic tools are needed to install or what I can look forward to for the install. Do I have to dissasemble the front strut completely to put it on or what?? Any help is appreciated!!

where did you hook the 2 ends to the strap? how hard was it to undo the strap under the springs compression?

if you look at pic 7 and 8 you can kinda of get an idear how the spring is routed. i wrapped the loose end of the strap around the top of the stock so when i released the rachet it wouldnt go flying(and it will beleave me) thru the air.

I didn't have to compress my springs at all. Take the nut off where it goes thru the support on the frame then I lifted the bike with my winch or a floor jack under the frame and then pulled the nut off thats holds the washer and spring There was no tension on the spring either time I took mine apart. Now going together if you use spacers like Sten or Instigator, then there will be some spring tension. But depending on how much lift there is you may or may not have problems.

How much lift do you get out of these adjusters?? Cause as everyone may have guessed, I'm alwas lookin for more lift LOL

to clarifiy, scammy is right there isnt much tentsion taking the stock set up out. but now let me tell you w/ spring spacers its a whole differnt balll game. the bigger the spacer the harder it is. the adjusters have 3 settings, stock ,1/2" and 1" settings. there is a better pic. somewhere of them.
