2000 xpedition tire size upgrade (26?, 27?)
#1
How big can I go w/out a lift ? I was looking at the 26 or 27 Swamplite Bigfoot kit w/wheels.....Any mods needed without trashing the fenders or steering issues ?

guessing 27" but not sure if the fronts will be too wide. if they aree they'll hit. w/ that size also you'll loose some power as well.

i think 26" would be a better choice. again if you have say 8" wide tires and try to go to 9 or 10" wide is where the trouble begins. just look at tthe distance between the stock tires on now and say the tie rods or the strut and see if another 1 or 2" will fit w/out putting spacers or differnt rims on.

I assume the Bigfoot wheels have allowed for that spacing (if needed)?? I have tried to research it but get a lot of conflictin gifo so i thought I would go to the guys who actually KNOW>>

well if you were to look at my 800 pics. i have the itp b.f kit w/ xtr's w/ type 7 rims which has a good off set to allow for wider tires. if you get a kit then you should be ok, but wouldnt garranty it other then what i have. lol.

26" on off-set rims is as big as you can go before hitting the front fender wells. Any bigger will clear going straight but interfere when you are turning. Having had an Expedition (loved it) I had 25" 589's on it with stock rims, but lost about 8 MPH on the top end. Loved the way it pulled through the mud and it surprised allot of people with independent rear susp. Downside was in certain conditions I was hunting between 2nd and 3rd gear (particularly snow), 2nd was too high 3rd too low. Just needed a bit more power. If you go bigger tires invest in some extra power as well. Got a pic of the rears in my profile. I will try and post a front.
