Default 28s on a 500?!?!?!?

So I've got a guy that wants to trade his stock tires and rims with less than 100 miles on them for my 27" XTRs and rims with 450 miles plus $500. Now the only way I'll sell me 27s is to put 28s on. And theres my problem LOL. I've never heard of anyone running 28s on a 500, just bigger bore bikes. I know it would be harder on CVs and everything else on the bike, but my biggest concern right now is clutching. Where would I even start??? It's stock now and I don't know if anyone would have a setup to help me out. I know when they started putting 26s on them factory Polaris regeared them to work with 26s so in my oppinion it would be like putting 27s on a bike designed for 25s right?!?!?!?

What do the panel of experts think?? (Other than not doing it LOL)
Any ideas on clutching would be great, Thanks Todd

i would think you would have to lift it for sure then get a high engaugment spring or just get a h/c kit w/ a differnt secondary spring. it will be harder to turn them for sure but people do do it.

Well I'm already lifted as high as I wanna go and have lots of clearance for the big meats.

Now it's my understanding that 07 was the first year for the TEAM roller secondary in the 500, and no one seems to make a clutch kit for it at all. So I don't even have a baseline to start with other than stock. The only time I ever did any clutch work was just installing a kit. I have never just walked into the dealer and ordered springs and wieghts LOL I would rather use Polaris parts because the dealer is just down the road, but I don't have a clue what I'll need and neither will the parts guy because he can't even get me the right oil change kit for my bike LOL.

I don't know if theres a chart with springs and engagement RPMs any where around, but if there is I would like to see it LOL.

Thanks, Todd

I can see me running as high as 27"
but 28" on 500, wouldn't ya be nerveous
of power loss, trans/cv/axle strains?

Your right, never BIG enuff. Do you all recommend
inflating the PSI levels in your tires when running
thru water/mud for more floatation to avoid getting
stuck?
