Just passing this along. I recently removed my old 2000 Warn due to some sort of elect. issue in the switch/solenoid/ who knows..... I looked at upgrades (wire/switch/connector) for it to convert it to a 2500. Prices went from $124.00 to $150.00...ouch

I found a"universal winch kit" just for this application for $15.00 through Gorilla... Owning a Gorilla 2500 and not having any issues with it (not to mention it is a direct bolt-on to my xpedition using the SAME brackets). The bolt pattern, width, height, etc is identical to my Warn 2000.. Anyhow I saw these and thought I would try it.. It is the same kit that came with my Gorilla that was super dumb proof to install.

Both the Gorilla kit and the Warn kit appear to be identical other than the winch wires being a different color..hmmmmm.. $21.00 (with S&H) or $135.00 ?? Yeah, I ordered it, I have spent that much money on gas in a day ......If you are intereted to see how it works let me know. I do not anticipate any issues... It is WIRE and two electrical switches...

Yeah, the 4 post relay is the brunt of the big money. I think warns are like $85, plus the rocker is $40. I hope the quailty is good. I expect it to be, they sell those same parts "WITH" a winch for $135. Looks like you saved some dough!

I agree....I would bet they are the same thing as warn...The winch seems to be the same and I have had no issues with the Gorilla set up so far..I suppose time will tell........I DID have issues with the Warn though. A buddy of mine crapped his new Warn 2500 out for no apparent reason so if these thngs are at least as good as that it was worth it.....

 

BTW, anyone in the market for a winch plate adapter (the whole front piece) for a Polaris . It fits at least Warns and Gorillas. I do not need it as the stock winch holder worked fine.....It fits a lot of the 1999-2003 Polaris models (Magnum, Sportsman, explorer).
