2005 Viper 90R troubles
#1
I have been lurking here for about a year now and you guys seem to know your stuff. So here goes a good one. try to point me in the right direction. My son started to pull out on his Viper 90R yesterday and it died. It would not start back so today I got a new plug but didn't help. So I pulled the plug back out and no spark. When you turn the key on the dashboard does light up and tell you if it is in F, N, or R. Put it in Neutral and make sure the kill switch is on and it still will not spark. Does anyone have any specs on checking the coil, rectifier, regulator, or anythin else they think it might be. I blew the stator out as dust has been a problem before. Thanks guys.

I had a 06 viper 90r 4 stroke sold to a customer the other day so i got it running and cleaned it up the guy came to pick it up and the thing wouldnt start check for fire no fire so i exchanged the ign. switch still no fire replaced the cdi box out and i have fire now talk about wierd .....

So the ignition could be bad and the dashboard still light up? I will unplug the CDI and try that and pull the switch out. I will just try and hot wire the switch to see if that is it.

What are the parameter's on checking the stator where I can at least rule that out before replacing the CDI. Also being that mine has reverse, do I have to stick with the same CDI or will any of them do?
