IRS Can-Am Sport Machine? Is it possible?
#1
Hey guys,
First off, this is not rumors or any "inside information," it is purely speculation.
That said, do you guys think that a modified SST frame could allow Can-Am to launch a manual clutch sport machine to compete w/ the Outlaw? Just thought this might be neat b/c it would start a second class of High-Performance quads, straight axle MXers and IRS XCers. I was just curious b/c i dunno how heavy the SST frame is and if you guys think it would work in a pure sport quad with a 450 - 525cc 4T with a manual clutch? I'm sure their first one in that class would be a solid axle, but thought it would be interesting if there was a dual-launch...

It is possible that they may do it, but it has to be good on the track which would be interesting to see an extended rear and a arms on an irs...It is possible, but no one knows for sure.

800cc, EFI, manual trans, in an aluminum DS frame.... thats what I want, I doubt we'll ever see it.
Scrambler... I'm not sure that is what is next (it better not be) but I could see it as maybe something down the line. I'll tell you what... if they don't release another DS sized machine within the next few years I may be jumping off the Can-Am ship.

There is nothing wrong with the current DS 650. That is one, well thought out toy.
Don't know why you'd want to compete with one when they have not proven to be a contender. Everyone I have passed looked cumbersome. At the end of the races the riders were just as beat up. I have on helmet cam, me approachine one and riding behind for a while so as to record the action on a real race condition of that suspension. Looked neat!
