Got my new grizz today!

Yeah, I finally did it. Got myself a new Grizzly 700. I'll get some pix up soon. Wish I could say more but I've got a pizza to eat. But I will say this: Damn, that is a sweet machine.

Well I have a few more hours on the beast and all I can say is WOW. The EPS is amazing, I spent most of my ride today sitting down with one hand on the bars. I'm not typically lazy when it comes to riding, but it's really nice to be able to just kick back like that. At the same time, if I got on it and rode it like a sport quad, zig-zagging between rocks and mudholes, it didn't complain. Amazingly, its pretty stable for being as tall as it is. Plus when it does two wheel, I just go with it cause I love doing bicycles anyway (which the griz does with suprising confidence).
There was one time today after a short ride, I stopped, turned it off and then restarted it a moment later and heard a somewhat disturbing noise. It was coming from the area around the exhaust header heat shield. I couldn't tell if it was internal or just a loose screw or something. It went away though and if it comes back I'll check it out. Might have just been some break-in noise.
I got it in green, which I'm really happy with, though I couldn't seem to make up my mind about the color before. Now all I have to decide is what tires I want to put on it.
All in all, I just hope that this bike gives me no mechanical trouble, because if it's reliable, it's gonna be a whole lotta fun. Now I have to talk my dad into getting himself one. Can't have a polaris holding me back.
Oh, and it rides like a freight train sometimes, but in a good way. It's definately a big, angry bear.

Forgot to mention.. The shifter did give me a little trouble. It's not too bad, just a little stubborn. It seems to like to go from high to neutral, then to reverse or park rather than directly from high to reverse or park. I heard there's some minor adjustment that can be done to help free it up, but couldn't find anything about it in here. Any help?

I've heard there is an adjustment for the shifter as well that is supposed to make it easier. However I can also tell you that mine has gotten easier with use. I have close to 1000 miles on mine now and it shifts much easier than it did when it was new. Also, remember you need to have your foot on the rear brake in order to shift down into reverse or park...
