front strut

Default front strut

2000 sportsman 500...are these adjustable for ride quality?? i had turned the nut on top of my front strut b/c the thing seemed loose and made a clank when you push down on the front of the machine looking under the front fender it seems like the top of the strut was loose did i screw something up turning this nut i was think about this after i did it,,,, thanks

Default front strut

no, thats the nut to remove it from the upper mount. You need to hold the flat top part of the strut shaft.

front struts are nonadjustable.

You might want to look into Works strut cartridges. Not only are they rebuildable, but they are adjustable, too.
