Questions about 800 pipe on 700 carb
#2
Hey everyone, got a few questions before I start my installation of the 800 pipe for all you guys that have already did it.
1. Did you have any problems removing the studs from the old pipe?
2. What exactly has to be done to the shifter lever or connector rod?
3. What are the notches in the carb that everyone is talking about? 3rd or 4th notch etc...
The only thing I ever did to the carb is put a new throttle cable on so I'm not very familiar but am willing to tackle anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sorry, for the long delay, I just did mine a few weeks back. The shifter will rub the outside of the pipe and possibly rattle. What I did was, bent the front linkage(not the rod, it is still straight) out. Then, I switched the front bolt around allowing the extra threads to go inside to prevent them from rubbing the plastic, after I finished bending. I had to go up 3 main jet sizes.(165) I also have the K&N, and a 800 intake(air box lid). The clips are on the needle that you should have seen when you replaced the cable, they allow minor correction to air fuel mixture. Always try to run the clip somewhere in the middle. If tuning, you find yourself all the way one way or the other, you should go to the next jet size and put the clip back in the middle and start over. I have a few extra 160's, and 162.5's, that I'd be willing to send, you one of each, so you can try to dial it in. Most people only need to go up 1 size, for some reason, mine needed 3. It runs like a raped ape. Mine is the 1000 lb MV, with big tires, and I keep up with the 700 Grizz and 700 KQ on the trails. PM me, if you want these jets!

when my dad did his, he only had to go one down on the clip in the carburetor, which is in the top of the carburetor, you just pull the needle out and put it down a notch. he also has a kn filter and and 800 snorkel, according to the gps and my buddies speedo in his pickup, it goes 74 mph
