Default 400ex clutch, need answers

The last few times i have been out riding, i have had to adjust the clutch steadily. I just adjusted it at the clutch lever until i could not anymore, then i adjusted it at the engine. I am new to this kind of thing, and dont really know what is happening. I dont know if it's the cable stretching, or the clutch plates, and/or springs going out, or something else maybe??????????????????? Thanks for the help......................................

It's probably time to put a clutch in an 01 400. They run right about 100 dollars, so it isn't too bad. Get a kit with new fibers, metals and springs.

Clutches are disposable items, that need to be replaced now and then.........

Ok, well I have heard to go back with the stock Honda clutch, but would any aftermarket ones be good, bad, or otherwise??????? I found a TUSK kit with heavy duty springs for $45.00, its cheap, but would it last, or are you getting what you pay for with that?
