Default Blaster clutch/tranny opinions.

My uncle and myself have a '98 blaster. The thing runs like a champ but the clutch has been slipping for a while. My little cousin is learning to ride and has been on it the last few weeks. A couple days ago it will no longer shift into 3rd gear. I mean it won't pull up into 3rd. I'm thinking he may have bent the shifting fork out of whack and i need to tear it down. Since i have to split the case I might as well put new rings in it.

Anyone have any suggestions/ideas/opinions? Am i headed in the right direction? This is more than a clutch problem right?

Sounds like you have the right idea. I don't think a slipping clutch, no matter how bad, could affect getting it to click into gear.

I agree with recon. Get a used trans, shift forks, and shift drum off ebay. Might as well do the rings while your at it. Get a clutch kit from rockymountainatv
