2 late 90s Scrambler 500s for $800?

My brother knows where a couple are near here, the guy wants that much for the pair... Neither of them to my knowledge work, however, it's supposed that a fuel pump would make one operable.. would they be worth the money? My brother thought they were maybe 99 models but wasn't sure. So...?

Can you try the fuel pump from one over to the other then see if it works first.............I would be very careful if both don't run..........Sounds like to me he had one .......then bought one for parts.......But too far gone to worry about fixing...........Good luck!!!...Caper........

I've thought about that. In fact that was one of the first things I thought about when my brother brought up the subject. But, I'm just not sure. The engines could be thrashed, but if they weren't.. that's when I got to considering... How hard would it be to put a '99 Scrambler 500 Engine into an '04 - '05 Trailboss frame? Then there's the thought of fixing the better of the two up and possibly selling my 'Boss. Though, I'd hate to part with it. We've been through much together.

Very true. In fact, I'm thinking about buying them, but first I need to have my brother get ahold of the guy who had them and make sure he still has them. On the flip side of the coin... I could just go buy a new '06 Sportsman 500 at my local dealership for 6k...

I would buy them and take the good parts of one bike and put in on the other one if one par is bad on one then the other one is probably going to be ok on the other one so do that till its really nice running and looking I have dune the same thing with a trailboss 300 run grate for years.
