Does anyone know where I can buy one that was running when removed? I think a recon engine is the same, please help me out with any knowledge you have.

Tough one to find though - most are still in running quads.

You might try Service Honda, their number is: 1-800-828-5498 they may not have one but may be able to steer you in the right direction.

 

thankyou, I will try them tomorrow, any other suggestions? I'm looking up part numbers right now for the thrust washers and such, so many little parts in these engines, lol, I got the book, now I just need the time and I know if I order parts, I will have to order more before I finish.

will a 2003 recon es (electric shift) work in the 2001-2002 250 ex? will it be able to shift manually? will I be able to get it in reverse easy? any input?
