polaris hawkeye mods

But if you want your hawkeye to be faster then you can do the following, Drill the slide, lean the carb out for more top end pull, drill the baffle on the Muffler and pull out that spark arrestor, remove some flywheel material, get an advance key for the flywheel also or make one, you can also get a dyno jet kit for the carb which makes 2 more horses for the hawkeye, you can make the drive rollers lighter and or replace the rear drive spring for more top end pull instead of midrange. if you really wanted to get down and dirty then order a 10 hp nitrous kit for it. runs about 600 dollars and would be worth it to spank a grizzly.

Explain the drilled carb slide in more detail. I've worked on motorcycle carbs in the past, so I'm not completly ignorant on them. What do you accomplish by drilling the slide? What are the benefits, and is there any downside to doing it?
Where do you get a dyno kit? Again, what does it do, and is there a downside to this too?
I don't want a querky, top end only atv, but a little more power thruout the powerband would be nice.
Thanks in advance.

If you want more power throughout the whole band, then you need to get a dynojet kit...

Also, I am in the middle of drilling out the carb slide in my second Hawkeye, I'll take some pictures of what I am doing if you like (give you a better idea).

between the two there is only 30cc of difference, Ive ridden both and the 330 tops out real early gets to 40 quicker but stops pulling at around 37 to 40 mph, the hawkeye running correctly will pull all the way to 49 Mph and do it in 2 tenths of a mile, probally passing the trailboss at 1 tenth of a mile.
but dont get me wrong the Polaris hawkeye is not a sport machine at all, Its not as comfy as the trailboss either, But if i were trailriding and climbing and hitting the mud, it would be on a Hawkeye not a trailboss.
if i were Jumping and dune riding id put some paddles on the trailboss and and have a ball. But yes the hawkeye will outrun the trailboss on a straight road . if I had to do it all over again to be honest i would have spent the extra money and gotten a 500 scrambler or a 330 magnum.
