Have a puddle of about a cup and a half of motor oil under the DS. Checked everywhere for leaks or drips, it came out of the blow by hose. A 2000 that has sat idle for about a month. Never had any issue like this before. Checked the oil level and it was down to the first ring on the dip stick, parked it with it between the two marks. It fired right up, blew another couple tablespoons worth of oil out of the blow by, not a puff of smoke nor anything else out of the ordinary after that. Ran fine and no more oil out of the hose.

FYI, a few years ago I replaced the stock hose with a 5/16 heater hose long enough to run under the motor, back under the swingarm, and secured under the skidplate to where anything that would come out of the hose would not get on the bike. Again, it has never leaked or had anything other than the normal blow by come out of the hose.

Thoughts please. Thanks

I would not worry much it sounds like the misted oil on the sidewalls of the tube slowly ran out and made a puddle and the oil that came out when you started it was oil that had run to the lowest point in the hose and gathered when you started it blew the puddle out no problem my only question is who in there right mind lets there ds set for a week let alone a MONTH COME ON DUDE YOUR GETTING SOFT.

Mine will do it every once in a while. Route the hose up high and put a filter on the end

Sounds like your routed too low. I routed mine forward up and over the radiator around the oil tank and straight down between the a-arms. Hose is about 5-6ft long. No filter, no leaking, no mess to deal with. Best method I have found so far.

Okay, but like I stated earlier, it's been like this for a few years, and this isn't blow by oil, it's straight up motor oil. Almost two cups of it, like a gasket gave way or something. I used to have it up high with the little K&N type bling filter on it, but when you start adding things like carbs and exhaust, alot more stuff comes out of that hose and gets here and there. That's why I ran it under and behind. It's still never had any "oil" come out of it, just residue and puffs of air.
Thanks for the thoughts so far.

AZ, I was just at Glamis a week ago! I ride the hell out of my two. This is one that I sold to a good friend awhile back and with him not being familiar at all with the Bomb I gave him an extended service warranty. I'm down like that, always helping a Brother out.

I was told by an engine builder that if this happens it could be one of your oil pumps going out. the one pump can't keep up with the other one and it will cause it to have excessive oil come out of the vent tube.
Not sure if it is true or not but that is what I was told.
