Help! Daughters Polaris Predator 90 brake problems
#1
My daughters, bought my daughter a new 2005 polaris predator 90 last spring and the brakes keep going out during trail riding. Talk about scarry! We try to keep out of the mud as much as possible, but you know how that goes. Anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this problem. Both brakes goes out and completely does not work. Have searched for disc brakes to replace drum brakes with no luck. Any advice would be appreciated.

Son has Grizzly 125, and had the same problems with the drum brakes, would have them before the ride but middle of ride would lose them, on fix, the same "drain hole" on the underside of the drum also collects a lot of water, mud and debri, it doesn't take much to "loose"them, I mad the drain holes bigger, the problem he had is that the san/mud would get in and stay in and clog the drain. tried sealing better, but no luck since the axle rotates through the middle of the drum. Since then, only about three times a year I pull off the drums and Scrub everything.

Thanks, I will try your suggestions. We went riding again this past weekend and as usual about 1 hour into the ride they went out. Funny thing is, that after not riding for a while they work fine again. Wondering if they are also getting hot or something.
