Default 04 Arctic cat 400 4x4 Fuel leak

My 04 400 4x4 is leaking fuel at the float bowl drain. When bike is sitting still not running and you shake the atv fuel drips out. I have not checked to see if it does it running yet.

I took the float bowl drain screw out to see if there may have been some dirt in there not letting it close. Blew it out with carb cleaner and it still leaks running or not. I put an inline fuel filter on and there is little black floaters in the filter, I guess I need the carb taken apart and cleaned. what does that usually cost. This may also be my dieing at idle problem.

I think you probably could do it yourself. Check with the AC dealer to see if they make a rebuild kit. Just take your time and take notes if needed to put it back together. It is not a really big complicated thing. If I remember correctly the floatbowl cover has a gasket or a flat rubber "O-ring" and the drain screw has a rubber washer. If either are missing or bad then that could be the problem with it leaking, if you take both to the hardware store you probably can get the stuff there from the plumbing department.

Thanks for the help. I took carb off removed float bowl and cleaned it out with carb cleaner, removed float cleaned every hole I could spray into , It looks like that might have fixed it, took for a ride no leaks. Just needed a cleaning.

Good for you and you saved yourself some money by doing it yourself.
