ok so a few days ago my starter stopped working so i took it apart reasembled it put it back on bike, now i hit start button, the starter spins, or sounds to be spinning, but the engine does not crank over, i cannot figure it out, when i hook the starter up to the bike but do not put it in the engine i can see the drive thing is spinning, but when in engine it does not turn it over, please help asap!

 

anyone? i need help, do not know wat to do or try
