my 2003 polaris scrambler 500 has a bad engine hesitation problem. under a load or giving it alot of throttle makes it hesitate. butt in reverse with the over ride switch is pressed is does not hesitate. sometimes it wont even pull up a hill because of the hesitation problem. any help woud be appreciated. this atv is stock and has had the valves set to polaris specs and the spark plug has been replaced with a new and it still has not fixed the problem.

 

have you tried to push the button while you try and pull up a hill? there might be an electronic issue here.

thats a good idea. havent tried that butt i will. thanks for the advice. i know when i put it in reverse and press the over ride switch it does not hesitate. thanks again

 

sounds like the overirde rev limited is messing up.

 

do u know how to fix it. is it easy as replacing the over ride switch. appreciate the help in advance.

 

not sure on your bike if it has a trans. switch which tells its in reverse or not but that could be part of the problem as well. i thought you ment to bypass the override switch. sorry my brain cramp.
