Jetmoto 250 sport Seat loose? falls off while riding :(
#1
I took the quad out today and had a freaking blast. I did run into the problem people were talking about with the seat mounts being poorly designed, but I can't find the thread where people were talking about it. I do not currently have the bolt in that the front mount goes under because I lost the nut. I have the rest, so I'm going to score a nut tomorrow. Is that the root of the problem? The rear latch on mine doesn't seem to really lock onto the bar down there. If you pull the seat back, it just comes right off. It looks like the seat is partially supported by the rear body (fenders/battery box/etc.) That seems like a bad idea. *shrug*
Anyone have any ideas to keep it from coming off on me if I have to stand up for a bump or something?

From day one I had to bend the front tabs on the seat down just slightly with a vise grip to get them too slide under the bolt area. Once I did this I have not had any issues and the seat fits tight. When I put the seat on now I put it slightly back in place then from the back of the seat I push forward and down and it clicks into place and will not come up until I release it from the lever below.

I think my issue is I don't have a bolt in the rear body panel where the front tabs on the seat go. I bent it down thinking it was the issue, but tomorrow I will get the bolt put back in and bend it back up. I was worried that without the bolt in, it would go between the body and the metal mount there.
Man I love this quad. I just had to tighten the front handlebar sleeve where the metal bends up and around the sides of the two bolts at the front. I'm going to do loctite tomorrow I think.
Also, I have some wobble in the right rear tire, but the bolts are tight. I'm going to try to take the cotter pin out out and retighten the hub. Maybe that is the issue.
Thanks for the help man!

I put a washer on the left rear and the wobble is gone! Thanks for the help.
No matter what I've done, I've not been able to get the seat to stop falling off. This weekend the seat came off while I was standing for a hill at 35mph or so and the seat popped off. When I sat down, it bent the rear latch. I was able to bend it back down, but I wonder how much it is going to take before I end up with a bungie cord across my seat like I had to resort to with the kazuma 110. That is unacceptable to me, so I'm going to have to figure something out. The throttle cable is wearing from the front latch on the seat moving back and forth. If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know. I'm not going to ride it until I get this figured out. This is unsafe.
