I bought what I thought was a 2000 Scrambler 400 2x4. Partsland.com doesn't list one for that year, only 2001.

Did polaris even make a 2000 Scrambler 400 2x4?

Yes they did. If you want the same parts diagram they are using, go to Polaris.

At the top of the page, mouse over the Riders tab. Click on Mauals and Parts.

You'll have to sign up, but it's free and painless.

From there you choose ATV, then Parts, then the year.

You will get a list of that years model atv's.

You can download the parts manual for free also. Makes for a good reference guide.

 

Thanks, I found it. The part # is different for 2000 2x4, 2000 4x4, and 2000 2x4, that surprised me. Now I need to double check to make sure it is a 2000.

 

I have used that many times to see if parts from other models interchanged.

 

You should be able to get the year by checking the VIN # on the frame.
