Snowmobile clutches or direct drive???
#1
Did a search and did not come up with much but has anyone tried a direct setup with no reverse with just a sprocket on the jackshaft out of the secondary??? The reason I ask is I just bought a 900 RMK motor that has the electronic reverse were the motor reverses. The guy that built the quad in the pic is running the stock tranny with the 4x4 setup intact and says that he has had no problems so far. But I am looking for something that is strong enough to hold up to the dunes with paddles.

Thanks PM Rider1 I will send you the rest of the pics tues.
kszr As far as the problems yes most of them were dealer setup and way over hyped as I owned two of them but once you do some mods from SLP pound for pound they are a very impresive motor I have over 2,000 mountain miles with nitrous about 200hp without any problems on mine. They do vibrate but not bad.

Thanks Jwb, I'm looking forward to seeing them. I don't know if I sent you my email or not but if it would be easier you can sent them directly there, Fourwh8863@aol.com
Are there any motor width differences between the 800 and 900? They're in different chassis from Polaris so it's a little hard to tell without actually measuring. The new 800 coming out this year is putting up some good horsepower numbers but for the price that you'd have to pay to get one of those being a new motor I think I'm just going to use the older 800 or 900. I can't wait to see pictures of it mounted to see how it fits.
