Default Hi-Bird Chain questions

OK, the kids are riding the heck out of these and one is finally causing me a minor bit of grief.
Chain has broke at the masterlink.
Local Go-Kart/Motorcycle shop does not carry a masterlink for the chain. It seems to be just an odd enough size that a #40 masterlink will not work.
If I were to change the chain all together would I need to change the sprocket as well? If so would I need to change both front and rear?

Need help on this one if anyone esle has run into this problem.

Thank you Bigborehonda20
I called them and the gal had no idea what I was talking about. I am hoping to get a call back soon from them but will wait and see.
Thanks again
