Default SUNL 90 will changing a sprocket give it more low-end???

I recently took my son out to a patch of fairly soft sand out by the beach. He has skat trak paddles on douglas rims on the back that I put on. I have drilled out the closest baffle of the exhaust pipe, but it still seems to struggle from take off in the sand. Will changing the front or rear sprocket give it a little more take off power?? If so, which one do I change and from what to what as far as teeth, more or less teeth?? Thanks

Less teeth on the front, or more on the rear will give it more low end.
