Yamoto 150 NEEDS HELP!!
#1
We purchased a 2005 Yamoto 150 for our 12 yr. old son for his birthday he saved for a year to get a quad, it was a big surprise!!! I bought it used watched it start cold and restart over and over, brought it home and now we have to use starter fluid to start it EVERY time, can't take off the throttle or it will die, it is running ritch very smokey, leaking oil, and now after the battery that is brand new was dead it won't hold a charge, it also seems to be idling VERY high. Please help us he has only ridden it about 4 days and is very sad we are willing to do the repairs with some guideness. Also do to a spark plug being tore out we are installing a new head, is it interchangeable with a Yamaha and if so which size? Yamaha claims that it isn't and won't sell it to us and I can't get a reply from any dealers on where to get one. PLEASE help our son really would appreciate it.

To Justmee,
We helped my son post his question about the quad that he is very proud of and that he saved ALL his money for a year for (not taking one gift for any of the holidays)we have three other kids and live on a limited income we were excited to even be able to get what we got. So to have to explain to my 12 yr. old what POS is and for him to see such a negative pst was very upsetting and uncalled for! The old saying if you don't have anything constructive or nice to say than just keep your comments to yourself!! We are looking for help, we are aware of the fact that the big brands are better but we are doing our best and are willing to fix what is needed in order for him to get his dream!

ok sir. why did u let ur son buy a yamoto? did u ever research the company before purchase. and u never buy a chinese quad used. they are selling it because the one they have is junk. so if someone posts something negative. they're not doing it , too be mean they are just being honest. their might be a solution to ur problem and it might be easy. but most likely its junk. and yamoto has nothing connected with yamaha!

I am aware and we did research, we read tons of posts by users on this site about the Yamoto vs. other off brands the only type he could afford, it was after that and hearing that the parts can be enter changed, we never minded fixing what broke. My son is not looking to hear that he bought something worthless from a bunch of adults, we are just looking for mechanical help nothing more. I don't believe that the original post asked anyones opinion on the purchase or for anything negative, we stated that it was a 12 yr. olds quad so we would have appreciated and expected more from adults!

yes but when u have an open discussion your going to have both sides. and what is it interchangble with?
also i'm sorry for ur sons loss i trully am. i just rather see him ride a late 80's big 4 instead of that.

Have you seen the prices? We thought he would be able to get one of those to but no luck!!! It is suppose to interchange with the Yamaha parts we just don't know what size quad to compare it with?
