Default 300ex vs a 400ex ?

Just wondering what the differences between the 300 ex and 400 ex ? Is the physical size that much difference ? How about the 300 ex, will it pull wheelies ? I am a dad that needs to chase the kids around the pasture on there smaller atvs but also likes to ride wheelies. Will this atv do it ? How does it compare to the old 250x from the 90's ?
Thanks,
D.

Big Big Big time difference if you ask me...400ex has way more power and speed. I own a 300ex and riding a 400ex is a complete difference. A 300ex is basically the newer edition of the old 250x. A 300ex will wheelie just fine...I have a blast doing it

I own both you can get the 300ex to wheelie in first, do have to drop the clutch pretty good. Great trail bike, would be good to get and when kids get old enough let them take over the 300ex and get yourself a new bike. The 400ex is a simliar machine just upgraded. A good comparison is 300ex(camaro) 400ex (corvette). The 300ex is a great bike, but when the 400ex pulls up next to you wish the power was there to compete. My 400ex will pull wheelies easily through 3rd sometimes in fourth.

The 300's only advantage over the 400 is that it is a little smaller and fits between the trees better, on a tight trail. Both are sweet handling, and the standard by which all the others are judged in terms of quality and reliability! I am 5' 7", and don't really feel cramped on the smaller 300. The 400 is the all time wheelie king, but the 300 wheelies fairly easily as well.

Now that my kids are older, I wish I had hung on to my 300 for them.

the 300EX has reverse unlike the 400 but hte 400EX is about 10pounds lighter not that it matters much but to some people it does but they are both fun quads to ride and great trail quads.

I disagree on the comment that you have to pop the clutch to make the 300ex wheelie...that is not correct... a little leanage or a pull on the handlebars is all that is necessary...not messing with popping of the clutch

Poopster is right. u dont need to mess with the clutch at all to get the 300 to wheelie. 3rd gear wheelies r easy and if you do it right u can get it up in 4th pretty easy too. ive never ridden a 400 but i love the 300!!!

If you want loud and more power... go w/400 but I can also say that I love my 300 and it wheelies in 3rd with a pull of the handlebars. I love the 300 but want something bigger now however...so if you are a larger body frame you may want to go with 400

you can adjust the clutch on both and that can make it harder or eazyier to wheelie any quad or bike.i had my 300 set very firm when i first got it so when in 2rd gear give it gas and it went right on the grab bar.down side was it was hard to get in to neutral.now its softer so it goes right into neutral. it doesnt get as high as before but it easyier to ride the wheelie that helps in drag races because it can leave the line harder thein other quads in my class.
