Need more info. Have you did a test ride on the raptor 660. Just don't get sucked into a crapy deal. I have a friend that traded Quads straight up and ended up putting a lot of money into the one he got. I have seen some go bad. I would just stay with the DS650. But it all depends what you perfer or if you trust this other person.

PS. Think long and hard...

I had a raptor before the DS650. i only sold the raptor cause it was a 2001 with the transmission problem. i like it a lot but didn't want to deal with it going out. i like my ds but its to heavy i want something lighter and my ds can only do wheeies in first gear if i pull back hard. i want something that does good wheeies and my old raptor did them well. But if i do trade im going to inspect that thing hard i know everywhere to look cause i had one.

i'd hit it if the raptor is in good shape. ride it before the swap. i had a raptor in 2001 and loved that machine.

I wouldn't unless you have a good reason - area you ride, need reverse, etc.

I had a 2003 for the Wife and hated the carbs on that thing. Worst design/set-up!

The DS is solid. I recently upgraded to the 700 Raptor. The Fuel Injection was a needed upgrade and has made it a totally different bike. I'm not a big fan of the Raptor 660's myself.

I get the feeling someone is playing a game with us. Look at the last few posts on the "Stolen" thread. lol

That guy is wondering if he should trade his 2002 Raptor for a 2000 DS650.

LMAO

I own both a DS & an 02 raptor, I would pick the DS every day of the year to ride. The DS is more reliable, more comfortable, more powerful(stock for stock). If it is wheelies you like put on the shorter swingarm(mine is an 04) and it will do wheelies easily. My front will come up on the DS in 1,2,3, and 4th if I try hard, just by cracking the throttle and this is just with an endcap & carb. On hill climbs it is more controlable than the raptor(when it was stock) as the raptor will point to the sky when you do not want it to. When I first got my DS we went on a ride and one of the guys had a 2000 model DS(freind of a freind), every straight bit of dune I was playing around doing wheelies and when we stopped he come over and wanted to know what was done to the engine. I told him she was all stock except for an endcap and he wouldnt believe me, I let him take her a spin and he loved the way the front would come up. He said he was going to put a shorter swingarm on just for this reason, not sure if he did.

I would think a lower front sprocket would help if you want to do wheelies easier. Maybe look on the garage thread and see if you can find a 04 or newer swing arm and swap them over. Lots of people want the longer swingarm for drag racing
