700 Sportsman clutch question?
#1
I have a 2007 700 Sportsman, I have added a front brush guard, 3000lb winch, 1"wheel spacers, 2" lift kit, 3 light mod kit, front and rear rack extenders, and the work light switch, and 27" Power King Mud Cat tires. But my question is do I need to do some clutching? I can't really tell any power loss, but let me know what you think.

Do you need to do clutching?? No not really. Just use low range a lot more. Will clutching make a differance?? Definitly. There are a lot of kits out there so do a search and you will find lots of information about all the kits. A lot depends on what you do with your bike ie: mud, work, high speed, low speed etc. A lot of people run differant setups for differant needs. My Heelclicker in my SP is great, but others have had luck with other brands. I had an AAEN kit in my Scrambler and loved it, but others who rode it thought it was too aggresive. So a lot of it is what YOU want to get out of your bike. Just my .02

I put 27" ITP Mud Lites on my Sp700. Noticed a slight loss of low end power. Nothing earth shattering. I added a tan / blue Polaris clutch spring. Made a noticeable difference, I found myself using low gear more.
