I have a 2007' 800 outty. 4 wheel drive just quit working. when i ingage 4 wheel drive, i flipped the button to 4 wheel while its in neutral. thats how i always ingage it. i put it in neutral, then i put it in h and it works, the light comes on showing that i am in 4 wheel drive. last night i tried to 4 wheel drive. nothing. no grinding. no screetching. nothing. i checked all my fuses, wiggled wires, everything i could think of. i was just wondering if there is a simple fix that somebody else knows that has been through this.

 

well first off with the machine not running can u hear the motor work when u flip the switch ... if you can then the little fork on the 4wd motor is broken ... if not pull of the black cover on the right side that covers the transmission and check the plug in ... if its not simply unplugged or something id say just take it to your dealer and have them fix it ... i would not recomend trying to take the 4wd motor off because its nearly impossible to get back in perfectly

 

thank you for the help.I went out in garage,took side case cover off and checked wire connections and they were intacked,so i flicked 4 wheel on and i taped lightly on the switch ,and the motor put it in 4 wheel,and the indicator light came on too.There is something not getting good contacked in the switch on the handelbars so im going to take it apart an check.thank you very much 4 the help!!!
