I used to have a set of what I beleive were cannondale shocks (that or 400ex?) a couple years ago that I slammed my old 03 DS with. It dropped it quite a few inches (shocks were 4-5 inches shorter than stock) and it rode decent, slightly stiff which was good for messing around on the road. I dont remember who i sold them to - was on the forums in the garage sale thread but I could'nt find it.

Anyway I was hoping to find something for the 730 that is VERY reasonable (cant afford to buy marvin shaws or an actual drag shock). I also dont really just want to put a solid bar in there as I would like a little bit of suspension travel front/rear for messing around on asphalt.

Does anyone have any ideas for me? I was thinking a used set of 400ex shocks front rear.

Also, does someone know the length of the stock ds shocks eye to eye (front and rear)??

Elkas are great, but I really do miss being able to totally slam my quad down and have great control on the road.

get a set of 450r shocks itll lower it some, but be more like a stiff drag shock

 

Roost, a cheap way to make some drag struts for the street, is to buy some square tubing and cut it to the length you want your bike to set at. It might not be the best looking thing in the world but its a cheap drag strut.

Take a look at my pics. My struts are made by marvin shaw but homemade ones work just aswell.

 

ex shocks are very cheap....cause they are pretty much junk...but they do fit the front of the ds and slam it to to the ground.
