'02 400EX CARB ISSUE

SO WAS AT THE DUNES RIDING AND NOTICED THE FUEL WAS JUST DRAINING OUT THE THE DRAIN TUBE UNDER THE FLOAT FOR NO REASON...JUST SITTING THERE I TOOK IT THE BOTTOM BOWL OF THE CARB OFF TO WIPE OUT AND BLOW OUT AND CLEAN WHAT EVER MIGHT BE IN THERE DIDNT SEE ANYTHING AFTER I CLEANED IT BUT WHEN I GOT I BACK ON AND TURNED THE FUEL VALVE BACK ON IT JUST STARTED TO DRAIN OUT AGAIN...ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IS WRONG AND WHAT I CAN DO TO FIX IT...SHOULD I JUST GOT HAVE IT SERVICED OR DO I NEED TO REBUILD THE CARB...WHAT THE HELL..

There may be a bit of grit caught in the float valve, holding it open. Or, the float has after all these years just gotten out of adjustment.
Over the years, this has happened to me occasionally, on a number of different machines. If it is a bit of grit, launch it off some big jumps and land hard, and that will usually jar the float enough to dislodge it.
If not, you will have to take the carb off. Might as well do a thorough cleaning, and then check the float adjustment.
