Default 1992 Yamaha Warrior Issues

Hello everyone I have recently bought a 1992 Yamaha Warrior that is in great shape. Except I am having a problem getting the axle straight. I do not have this problem on my older suzuki quad :S. Following the service manual I have loosened the axle bolts on the top and botto, and have the rear axle elevated off the ground.

Now when I get the chain set to the right tension using the 10 mm adjusters, the axle appears to be crooked. As in the left side is further forward then the right side. According to the manual tightening one adjuster or the other will correct this. However I can not seem to change it at all with the adjusters. The swingarm does not appear to be bent, and I did not notice this before i tried to adjust the chain tension.

So I think I am doing something wrong here. Is there a better way to tighten the chain and keep the rear axle aligned? Any help would be appreciated I find this frustrating as I do not want to ride my machine with the axle like this.

P.S it seems quite sever, measuring from rear hub to front hub the one side is an inch and a half more forward :S

Thanks,
Rob

be sure the adjusters are going into the little " pockets" in the swingarm or it will not be straight

Is your axle bent??? Spin it 180* and remeasure.

The axle is bent, sorry I did not mention that. However I still can not seem to adjust it. I am now thinking the swingarm may indeed be bent, although it does not look it. I also made sure the adjusters were in the pockets Thankyou for the replies. It still rides straight and drives nice, so I think I may leave well enough alone. When I find a good used one I am going to replace the axle.
