Default leak between engine and carb. Help

I found that i have a leak between my engine and this metal peice that bolts to the engine between the engine and carb. my fuel apears to be comming out of this leak, the last time i road it it sounded like it had more of a bark to the sound and now it wont start and i am guessing this is why. Anyone know how to fix this, there wasn't any gasket there, should there have been. Any and all suggestions please.

Default leak between engine and carb. Help

yeah those carb boots tear easily, but you can fix them. i ordered one off ebay and didn't get it a month later so i took the old one, soaked it in rubber cement, let it dry, did it again, wrapped special heat tape around it, and soaked it again, and now it works good as new.
